Sound familiar?
When finance stops keeping up with the organization.
The books are technically complete, but leadership still can't confidently explain the numbers.
Month-end takes too long, and reports arrive after the decisions they were meant to inform.
Cash flow is uncertain, or tracked by hand in a spreadsheet someone maintains from memory.
Programs, grants, funds, or events aren't reported separately enough to actually manage them.
Audit preparation is an annual scramble instead of a by-product of good process.
The organization needs senior financial guidance but can't justify a full-time CFO.
KNDC can stabilize the fundamentals, run the recurring work, and give leadership the forward-looking financial perspective needed to make better decisions.

Ways to engage
The full function, one missing layer, or a defined project.
Fully outsourced finance department
Best for
Organizations that want one partner to run bookkeeping, reporting, controls, and senior financial leadership.
Day-to-day bookkeeping, controller oversight, fractional CFO leadership, and the systems underneath — with a defined monthly reporting and meeting cadence.
Co-managed finance function
Best for
Organizations with a bookkeeper, finance coordinator, or small internal team that needs senior oversight and added capacity.
We work with the people you already trust, adding the controller, CFO, systems, or project expertise that's missing.
Fractional or interim finance leadership
Best for
Organizations that need a controller, finance director, or CFO for a defined number of days each month.
Fractional means ongoing, part-time leadership. Interim means temporary coverage during a vacancy or transition — for urgent or highly confidential mandates, see Bespoke Services.
Project-based finance improvement
Best for
Organizations with a clear, time-bound problem.
Catch-up bookkeeping, audit remediation, chart-of-accounts redesign, reporting redesign, a cash-flow model, an annual budget, or a KND+ implementation.
Tangible deliverables
What you can expect to have in hand.
The exact package is scoped around your organization, reporting obligations, systems, and leadership needs.

A current cash position and forward-looking cash forecast

The KNDC difference
Finance connected to the rest of your operational backbone.
Financial problems rarely exist in isolation. Payroll connects to HR. Reporting connects to governance. Automation connects to IT. Procurement and spending connect to operations. KNDC can address the finance issue while also understanding the systems and functions around it.
Featured solution
KND+: the systems layer behind better finance operations.
KND+ connects bills, approvals, card expenses, reimbursements, payments, and accounting records in one controlled, auditable workflow — built on QuickBooks Online and ApprovalMax, with dashboard, payment, payroll, and card integrations around it. It's how we make the finance function faster to run and simpler to audit.
Bills and approvals
Every bill flows through a clear, auditable approval path.
Cards and reimbursements
Corporate-card spend and expense claims land in the same controlled workflow.
Payments and records
Payments reconcile automatically back into QuickBooks Online.

Run the recurring accounting, close, reporting, approvals, and meetings according to the agreed scope.
Advise
Interpret the results, surface risks and opportunities, support leadership decisions, and participate with the board or finance committee where required.

Common questions
Answers before you ask.
What is the difference between a bookkeeper, a controller, and a fractional CFO?
A bookkeeper records and reconciles financial activity — transactions, payables, receivables, and bank reconciliations. A controller is responsible for the close, accuracy, internal controls, and reliable reporting, so the numbers can be trusted. A CFO uses those numbers to look forward: forecasting, evaluating risk, advising leadership, and supporting major decisions. Most organizations need a different amount of each, which is why our engagements are scoped by layer.
Can KNDC take over our entire finance function?
Yes. A fully outsourced engagement covers day-to-day bookkeeping, controller oversight, senior financial leadership, and the systems that connect them, with a defined reporting and meeting cadence. You keep ownership and visibility; we run the function.
Can KNDC work with our existing bookkeeper or finance employee?
Yes — that's our co-managed model. We work with the people you already trust and add the controller oversight, CFO leadership, systems, or extra capacity that's missing. We're comfortable supporting and supervising internal staff rather than replacing them.
How do you work with our external accountant or auditor?
We prepare the books, schedules, and supporting records they need and coordinate with them directly where you want us to. Year-end preparation and audit support are part of the work — the goal is to hand your external accountant or auditor an organized, well-documented file.
Do we need to use QuickBooks Online or KND+?
No. QuickBooks Online and ApprovalMax are the tools we know best and the foundation of KND+, but the engagement is scoped around your organization. If your systems should change, that becomes a deliberate, planned project — not a precondition for working together.
Can you help clean up overdue or unreliable books?
Yes. Catch-up and cleanup bookkeeping is one of our most common starting points: bringing the books current, correcting the structure, documenting the process, and then keeping it dependable month to month.
Do you support nonprofits, charities, and grant-funded programs?
Yes — nonprofits and charities are core to our practice. We work with restricted and unrestricted funds, grant and funder reporting, program-level reporting, and the board and audit expectations that come with them.
What does an engagement cost?
Every engagement is scoped around your organization and priced all-inclusive — you'll know the fee before we begin, and it won't drift with every phone call or question. The right starting point is a conversation about what's not working; a senior member of the team will help you identify the level of support that fits.
